Memorandum of Understanding signed with Taiwan’s Taipei Computer Association

On November 9, 2023, the Smart City Institute Japan (SCI-Japan) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Taipei Computer Association (TCA) of Taiwan during the Smart City Expo World Congress 2023 held in Barcelona, Spain. TCA is an information communication technology (ICT) industrial organization dedicated to supporting the promotion of smart cities in Taiwan.
Purpose of the MoU
Taiwan has been promoting technology development and implementation of smart cities in recent years, backed by the advanced technological capabilities of the ICT-related manufacturing industry. TCA plays a crucial role in promoting smart cities in Taiwan, and SCI-Japan will collaborate with TCA in various areas such as disseminating information on smart cities, collaborating in events like the “Smart City Summit & Expo” held in Taiwan, and fostering talent for the continued development of smart cities.

About Taipei Computer Association (TCA):
Founded in 1974, TCA is an ICT industry organization based in Taiwan. It has 4,000 members involved in the ICT industry. With the goal of establishing an international network in IoT technology and the smart city sector, TCA annually organizes Asia’s largest smart city event, the “Smart City Summit & Expo”, in Taiwan.
About the Smart City Expo World Congress:
The Smart City Expo World Congress is the world’s largest event focused on smart cities. Since 2011, it has been held annually in Barcelona, Spain. This event brings together government officials, businesses, and experts from around the globe for the exchange of information and ideas. In the 2023 edition, a total of 25,300 attendees from over 140 countries participated. Starting from the 2022 edition, SCI-Japan has been organizing the exhibition of the Japan Pavilion at the event.
